Fun Date Night Ideas For Couples That Love Food in San Francisco
You and your food-loving partner need some new date night ideas. Even though you love your neighborhood gastropub, it’s time to take a break for the sake of a new experience. Here are our favorite fun date night ideas for couples that love food.
Go on a Ferry Food Adventure
Get out on the water, but make sure to stop for provisions. Start at the Ferry Building for some snacks. Our recommendations: Cowgirl Creamery cheese with a baguette from Acme Bread Company, some sweets from Dandelion Chocolate, and nuts from G.L Alfieri. Then take a ferry to Sausalito and enjoy the views with your water picnic. Then take a walk around the picturesque town (really, it’s so damn cute) and play some bocce ball while drinking some beers and enjoying the view at Bar Bocce. End the night with fish at Sushi Ran or Italian at Poggio.
Go “Off the Grid”
One of San Francisco’s greatest reoccurring food events is Off the Grid, a food truck market. Though the food trucks gather all over the city, the most romantic of their events is the Presidio Twilight. You can eat your food truck finds in a cabana or firepit to make date night even more special. There is also live music and lawn games for dancing and playing under the stars.
Go on a Food Tour
Up your dinner game. Take the pressure off of agreeing on a restaurant (we know that gets stressful) and join a culinary experience where the restaurants are already curated. The guide on your three-hour culinary experience in the Mission, Tendernob, or North Beach will take you and your date to four restaurants. At each stop, you’ll try an appetizer, entree, or dessert and meet the chefs and owners of each restaurant. Dinner also comes with information about the history and culture of the local food scene.
